Year-end Holidays are full of fun, giving, parties, celebrations, gathering and so much more the jolly season brings! It’s hard to resist eating a lot because the Holiday Season comes only in one month a year, thus, it’s a time to give yourself a break and treat yourself by eating nice foods. Of course, you cannot not eat especially if the food in your parties are delicious and if you paid for them!

When December starts, Christmas parties and several hangouts and gatherings from your different groups of loved ones are being set. That means you eat, eat and eat! Aside from getting new gifts, new friends and new memories, you also gain new weight! And a weight heavier than before!

Well, during Holidays, it’s fine not to care, but after, you tend to want to go on a diet after all the festive eating here and there! It’s not because you are regretting feasting one whole month but because you want to get ready for another year, you want your clothes to fit well and sooner, it’s going to be summer!

With that, below are 5 tips you can check out to help you eventually get back in shape or in your previous fit and weight!

The Holiday Season is like a season of cheating from all the balanced diet you’ve been having the whole year! It’s a time when you attend more than two Christmas parties plus go to family reunions from both of your parents’ sides, then get invited by friends to hang out or come over to their houses for year-end lunches or dinners! With all those, how can you not not eat, right? And it’s actually fine.

The Holidays are a time when it’s fine if you’re not very much conscious about the number of dishes you took from the dining table. Well, of course, you still have to be careful, especially if you have health issues. And after the new year’s celebration, help yourself go back in shape by eating consciously again. Take back your balanced meals with healthy menus.

During the Holidays, it’s like you lost track of the “right amount” kind of healthy eating and went to “I’m going to eat as much as I want to” kind of year-end partying. But after the new year, you have to get back on track. Start where you left off before all the celebratory eat outs happened.

You have eaten lots of chicken, pork, beef and whatever kind of meat there is! Go party on the vegetables this time! Pursue a healthier heart. Lessen your meat intake. The Holidays must be enough for you to tone down on meat even for a bit of time.

It’s time to get those muscles and joints working out again! Don’t forget to make your gym visit for the new year. You might have not had the time to do so during Holidays since you were so busy, and your schedule’s full.

Exercise! Get those gym equipment working on you again. Start the year right with a workout that’s just right to make you loosen up, freshen up and ready for your back-to-workout sessions for the new year!

If in any case you cannot go or you do not prefer gym workouts, you can do them at home. You just need to prepare your exercise equipment, video guides, music and exercise clothes. If you have your personal coach at home, that would be really great. You’ll be meeting him/her again after a Holiday break from sweating off the calories to burn.

It’s time to walk! If you just stayed lying on bed the whole Holiday break, you should start walking again to warm up and to exercise! Walking is a form of exercise, and you don’t need any exercise equipment to do it! Only your feet making your body move, the places you will be walking to and from and your willingness to walk.

For walking to be effective for your going back in shape goal for the new year, it must not be only a 1-minute walk from your room to your gate. It must be something that will make you sweat too.

Depending on your weight and on your speed and style of walking, you will burn calories. That’s not bad at all!

Well, most of the time, it’s a matter of mindset for you to help yourself. Let the arrival of the new year motivate you to do your best in being fit and healthier. Every year is a year older too, which means you are not getting any younger, thus, you have to work on maintaining a healthy body, a healthy lifestyle!

Let the new year be an encouragement that it’s the start of a new chapter, so you better do this fitness journey right and real this time!

It’s good to eat, but don’t forget to eat healthy and eat in proper amounts. It’s not bad to eat a lot on Holidays. Just make sure that if you want to lose the calories you have gotten from the year-end feasts on your tables, you should be dedicated and responsible about yourself.
