This iconic landmark in the South Loop has seen its fair share of historic visitors, international celebrities, two presidents and notorious gangsters. A hobo named "Peg-Leg Johnny" and a young boy has been allegedly thrown by his mother from the 12th story have been known to haunt the hotel. Room 441 or the most famous Congress Plaza accounts for dozens of creepy stories.

This hotel is considered to be extremely haunted. It is rumoured, Marilyn Monroe's ghost wanders the hotel and frequent her old room there. Reports have been published about the scary, ghostly sighting and most reports involve the dead superstars who stayed there. Apparently, for ghost hunters who want to see more than just a regular ghost, this is the place. The blonde bombshell's ghost can still be heard practicing his trumpet in suite 928 where he once stayed for six months.

This 120-year-old hotel in Austin is a luxurious landmark with some spooky rumours attached to it. Stories suggest the death of a young girl who died after falling down a staircase. The sound of giggling and shadows can be seen even today. But the head-soul, Colonel Jesse Driskill is the original owner who likes to check in on this grand creation.

Previously, this hotel was the Orleans Ballroom and Theater which was later converted into a hotel for nuns which also served as a medical ward and orphanage during a yellow fever epidemic. Currently, several ghosts including a lonely ghost dancer, a confederate soldiers children and nuns are said to roam the halls. If you don't want to see double trouble, better take it easy on the signature Voodoo Mojo cocktails in the Bourbon O bar.
