This World Environment Day, Palmonas Chose Action Over Awareness

 World Environment Day often inspires conversations about change. We wanted to inspire action.  

So, on a rainy Sunday morning in Mumbai, we brought together our community at Juhu Beach with one simple goal: leave the beachfront better than we found it. 

Despite heavy rains just half an hour before the event, our community showed up. Dressed in pink, armed with gloves and garbage bags, they came together not just for Palmonas, but for a shared belief that small actions can create meaningful change.

What followed was far from a typical Sunday morning.  

There was laughter, conversations between strangers who quickly became friends, and a collective willingness to get their hands dirty for a cleaner coastline. For around 60 minutes, our community geared up with gloves & mask and got to work, transforming a stretch of the beach one bag of waste at a time.

Together, 35 volunteers collected over 650 kilograms of waste from the beach.

And while we'd love to tell you about everything we discovered during the clean-up, let's just say some beach treasures and surprises are stories best kept within the Palmonas community.

For us, this initiative was never just about cleaning a beach. It was about creating a space where people could come together, connect with one another, and contribute to a cause that impacts all of us.

"We wanted to create an experience that encouraged people to step outside, connect with one another, and contribute to a cleaner future," says Pallavi Mohadikar. "Community for us goes beyond jewellery, it's about what we do together and the impact we can create collectively."

Through this initiative, we hope to inspire more community-led action and demonstrate that environmental responsibility is not limited to one day of the year. By bringing people together around a shared purpose, we aim to create experiences that leave a lasting impact on both people and the planet.
