What is Digital Gujarat Scholarship?
Digital Gujarat Scholarship is a centralized platform for accessing the various scholarships offered by the Government of Gujarat. This makes it easier for students to know all the options available to them. As of now, there are more than 30 scholarship programs covered under the Digital Gujarat Scholarship. These scholarship schemes aim to provide financial assistance to students who cannot afford the targeted education on their own.
Under the Digital Gujarat Scholarship initiative, students get a wide coverage. Financial assistance is available from Class 1 to postgraduate/PhD levels. These scholarships cover school, higher education, professional courses, research and ITI. Since a fast developing country like India needs enormous manpower, the Digital Gujarat Scholarship ensures that all willing candidates have access to quality education. Key features and benefits
Under the Digital Gujarat Scholarship, the benefits include monthly stipends, fee exemptions, full or partial tuition fee payment and food/hostel assistance. At the school level, the financial assistance can be up to Rs 5,000 per annum. For professional courses, the financial assistance is much higher at up to Rs 2 lakh. For fellowships, the financial assistance can include payment of Rs 2,500 to Rs 3,000 per month. To avoid the risk of scams and intermediaries, all financial assistance is provided via direct bank transfers.
Digital Gujarat Scholarship - Eligibility criteria
- Income limit - To be eligible for Digital Gujarat Scholarship, the family income should be below Rs 2.50 lakh. It can also be Rs 1.50 lakh in some cases.
- Residency - The student should be a domicile or permanent resident of Gujarat.
- Category - The scholarships are usually for students coming from SC, ST, OBC/SEBC, EWS, Minority, and NTDNT (Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes) groups.
- Academic - The student should be studying in a government or recognized private institution.

How to apply for Digital Gujarat Scholarship?
All applications need to be filed on the official website - www.digitalgujarat.gov.in. New users need to register on the website by entering the basic information and confirming their identity via OTP. After login, users need to complete their profile by providing details such as address, education, caste/income, bank details, photo, etc. In the next step, users need to visit the Scholarship section and choose the scheme they want. After submitting the form, users can track the status of their application after a few days.
